This article is for informational purposes only and is not intended to substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.
Always seek professional medical attention before attempting any physical, sexual or emotional harm to yourself or anyone else.
If you are in immediate danger, immediately call 911.
Always take the precautions you can to avoid injury.
Never share intimate images of yourself or others without the consent of the person to whom they are posted.
Never leave a victim unattended or leave a body in a public place.
If a suspect has already been arrested, the victim can still receive assistance from a law enforcement agency, including the police, and the suspect may be released without charges.
